Referral Process
We aim to improve efficiency for primary care providers and to advocate for improved gastroenterology access on behalf of our patients.
We currently receive and triage referrals through a centralized intake fax number (250-763-3818). In December 2022, we updated our Referral Form. Our “Resources” page contains a fillable PDF version of our Referral Form. Review the memo in the “Resources” section if you require this Referral Form for a specific EMR system.
For us to appropriately triage patients, referral forms must be completed with the required lab work and medical history. Incomplete referral forms may be returned to your office to be completed.
Completed referrals will be reviewed and triaged within three business days. We aim to confirm receipt of the referral to your office within three business days. Referrals are triaged based on urgency and symptoms. After triaging, your office will receive an estimated booking timeline.
If you have an urgent concern, you may contact the gastroenterologist on call through the switchboard at Kelowna General Hospital.
